Saving time and effort for clients during the life of their escrow agreements was the primary purpose behind Escrow Associates implementing FTP depositing services at the inception of the company in 2002. At that time, Escrow Associates was the only technology escrow agent to offer such innovative services. Today, an increasing number of software developers have shifted their process of transferring source code to the more efficient, economical and secure FTP. “Clearly, this service is substantially more efficient for all of our clients in terms of saving them time, money and resources, but it is the developers with frequent updates that seem to find it most attractive,” says Chris Smith, Vice President of Sales for Escrow Associates, LLC. “Most likely this is because developers provide and fund the manpower to keep the escrowed software current and making these deposits takes time and money. Our FTP service eliminates the tedious steps associated with the traditional process of burning software onto a CD, packing it in protective shipping box, locating their account number and delivering it to an overnight shipping service.” Utilizing the Escrow Associates’ FTP depositing services is as simple as sending an email to ftp@escrowassociates.com and requesting a session. A representative of Escrow Associates will respond directly to establish login credentials that will enable transmission of materials at ftp.escrowassociates.com. Upon completion of the transfer, Escrow Associates will then remove the files and write them to optical or magnetic media for secure storage within one of its media vaults. “Our primary focus at Escrow Associates has always been on the client and our service to them,” states Smith. “Providing software developers the option to FTP the files to us at no additional fee is one more example of that, and because there are no size or speed limitations to these transmissions, we continue to see more and more of our clients taking advantage of this feature. What may be even more important is that accounts that utilize FTP depositing services update roughly 30% more often than accounts utilizing traditional methods. The bottom line is that making deposits via FTP is simply more attractive to our software Depositor clients.” |
